Smoked Mike aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the applicable requirements of CAN/ASC-EN 301 549:2024. This is an accessibility commitment, not a certification of full conformance.
Using this site
Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between links and controls. The first link skips navigation and moves focus to the main content. Press Enter to follow links; use Enter or Space to activate buttons and expand Search & filters.
Keyboard: type to find options, use Up and Down to browse, Enter to select, Escape to close, and Tab to move on. Tab to a selected item's remove button and press Enter or Space to remove it.
On recipe pages, use the decrease and increase buttons to change servings. Updated quantities are announced without moving focus. The Print recipe button opens your browser's print dialog.
The site follows your system's light or dark preference, with a header override. It respects reduced-motion and Windows high-contrast settings. Browser zoom and text-spacing adjustments are supported, and the layout reflows on narrow screens.
Use the EN or FR header link to switch languages. Recipes and their ingredient links stay in the selected language. Content is available without JavaScript; search and serving adjustments require JavaScript.
Assessment and limitations
The current review covers the English and Canadian French homepages, recipes, Buy Local page and accessibility guidance, in light and dark themes. Automated checks and keyboard, reflow and text-spacing checks are part of development. Automated checks alone cannot establish conformance. Manual testing with NVDA, VoiceOver and other assistive technologies, and testing by people with disabilities, remain necessary before making a full conformance claim.
Hyvor Talk comments and ratings are third-party interactive content requiring separate accessibility review. Linked producer sites, social media and browser print dialogs are outside this site's control. This site currently has no embedded audio/video, downloadable office documents or PDFs, or native applications. Hyvor Talk handles any commenting accounts. New features need a fresh assessment against the applicable standard requirements.
